Happy Easter Everyone! Where ever you are and whatever you are doing I wish you a great Easter Weekend 🐣

By now I know what I’m doing when it come down to entertaining people and provoking amazing reactions at weddings, corporate parties, private parties and events. However, sometimes these reactions are not caught on camera as the photographer is not always familiar with the routines I am performing and doesn’t always know when the moment of astonishment will be. Even if I have worked with a photographer dozens of time, I often have new routines that they will not have seen me perform before.
Often photographers are that good that I don’t need to say much but I try to let them know when to get ready to get the money shot! At the weekend, I had the pleasure of working alongside Jason Lee for the first time and he caught some fantastic moments on film! Just take a look at the picture below he managed to get at Chris and Naomi’s wedding at The Village Hotel in Hull. For more information on Jason Lee Photography checkout his Facebook page: www.facebook.com/JasonLeephotography2015 Jason captured the reason why you need a close-up magician at your wedding! 😀 By now I’m very familiar with entertaining people at weddings, house parties, big corporate parties, at restaurants and bars, but at the weekend it was the first time I had performed at a Baby Shower!
The Baby Shower was held at the amazing Village Tea Pot in Arksey near Doncaster. When I walked in I was greeted by loads of friendly faces and the most amazing buffet in the world! This place is a must to visit if you are ever in the area! I know that I will be going back to enjoy some of their delicious homemade cakes 🍰 I’ve been all over the place this weekend and loved every minute of it!
On Friday evening I was in Scunthorpe for an 18th Birthday Party. Saturday saw me performing at The Village Hotel for Chris and Naomi’s Wedding. I had so much fun going around the tables leaving people speechless. A few hours later I was in Wakefield helping Helen celebrate her special birthday with some close up modern magic. I had the pleasure of exhibiting at The KP on Sunday before zooming off to the The Village Tea Pot to entertain at my first baby shower! Awesome weekend entertaining awesome people! 😀 Lovely day today at The KP, I just love showing people exactly how I can entertain their guests on their Big Day!
As always it was great to catch up with my fellow fantastic exhibitors Insight Photography, Cake Creations by Jill Fisher, Rebecca Robinson Photography, Gladstones Jewellers, Cluskey Smith Weddings and Peach Hampers Hopefully see you all again soon 😀 So I generally get booked as a wedding magician, walking around mingling with guests and keeping them entertained throughout the wedding day and evening. I love it! I enjoy the atmosphere of a wedding and visiting all the lovely venues people get Married in. However, it is nice to perform close up magic at different types of events and last weekend I attended my second Comic Con organised by Savage Beast Events. When I first got booked to entertain at a Comic Con I was unsure how well it would work. But I shouldn’t have worried at all, everyone who attends these conventions are there to have a good time and they all loved seeing some ‘street’ style Magic close up. There is a variety of ages who attend and most people dress up as their favourite character. It makes for a really interesting event, one minute I’m performing for the Spider-Man and Batman and the next minute it’s Harley Quinn and The Joker! I love witnessing people who are truly passionate about something, the effort these guys put into the details of their costumes is incredible. When I set out as a Close-up Magician I never thought I would perform at such a variety of different events. But that is the beauty of Close-up magic, it is so versatile, all you need is a group of people. Hopefully I will be invited to more Comic Cons in the future and might even dress up myself, I’m told that Gambit from the X-Men would be a good character as he is supposed to be an expert at card throwing. Take a look at the video below of me at Keighley Comic Con in March 2018 where I am performing one of my newest routines to possibly the cutest Hulk in the world! Thank you to all the lovely people I met on the day including Inca Stinka N Zeus, Kerry King-Neale, Mike Kell, Ross Mullan, Andy Hutchinson with Meet Pete Dinosaur Hire, All the guys at The SuperHeroes Cosplay Special Thanks to Judi Wilson for filming the videos and Allie Gosney for Organising the Event! I love wedding fayres!
I probably shouldn’t as it’s 4 hours of standing up after an hours drive and another hours setting up. But I just love meeting new people and giving them a taste of how I can entertain their guests at their wedding with close-up magic. Most of the time at wedding fayres future brides and grooms are bombarded with information, and I’m sure it can be quite daunting. I like to provide a bit of light relief in the form of a few magic tricks that question “what just happened!” I can’t wait to exhibit at The UK Wedding Event this Sunday at York Racecourse. If you are going come and see some impossible magic! ♠️♦️♥️♣️ Did You See It? 🧐 It's a subtle one. Lately I have been obsessed with learning coin magic, so lots more coin videos planned! I have always been fascinated with card magic and sleight of hand, however recently I have realised I have enough card tricks in my repertoire to perform for hours. Therefore, I’ve been compelled to go deep into other disciplines of magic. I have watched hundreds of coin magic routines, researching what I think is the best routine to dedicate time and effort to learn. I know have 2 coin routines that I can’t wait to perform at weddings this year! Hopefully I will see you at some of the events I will be performing close-up magic at this year. If you liked this video please check out more of my videos performing close up street magic and more sleight of hand and mind reading. Feel free to take a look at my Facebook page www.facebook.com/richreynoldsmagician I had a lovely evening entertaining Wayne and Rebecca’s family and friends on Saturday at the The Assembly Rooms.
The “karaoke” singing to the bride and groom part of the evening was hilarious and should be mandatory at every wedding! 😂 Have a awesome honeymoon in New York guys! 😀 Exactly 1 year ago I resigned from my full time job to become a full time Magician.
That isn’t a sentence I ever thought I would write. 😀 I never even planned to be a magician, it kind of just happened! I’m sure some people thought I was delusional, and I can’t blame them for thinking that. But as soon as I hand handed over that resignation letter I was determined to prove myself. I have had an amazing year, I just love being able to focus on different ways to make people smile. I have over 100 weddings booked in for 2018 so far so it’s going to be a busy year. Thank you for everyone who has supported me, I wouldn’t be able to do this for a living without plenty of peoples help. Hopefully see you all soon 😀 Picture by joe mather photography |
