It was just 2 years ago that I performed at my first ever wedding at Rise Hall and this weekend I got to revisit where it all began!
I could remember how nervous I was before performing back in 2015, but also the adrenaline rush when I realised my hours of practice had paid off as everyone seemed to enjoy what I was showing them. Back to 2017, the magnificent Rise Hall was the perfect setting for the wedding of the gorgeous couple Rebecca and Oliver. This wedding had it all! Can't wait to see the pictures captured by the man behind the lens the fantastic Stephen Armishaw. I had such a laugh in the bar showing Rebecca and Oliver their special Bride and Groom magic tricks, I hope you keep those souvenirs forever guys and have an awesome honeymoon in The States! 😀

I had a hectic summer performing close up magic at a variety of weddings and events around Yorkshire and beyond. The more word spreads the more time I have to dedicate to answering emails and checking my availability etc. But I love setting aside time to practice something new! I think life is all about acquiring new skills, that one of the reasons I think I'm drawn to magic. Over the next few weeks I thankfully have a bit of time to practice some new skills before a manic December. The video below is a few coin sleights I have been working on recently, hope you enjoy 😀 I was at The York Pavilion Hotel on Friday night to provide some after dinner entertainment for Emma and her family and friends to celebrate her special birthday.
I hope I was more entertaining than an After Eight mint! Everyone seemed to enjoy my book test trick using everyone's favourite ‘novel’ Fifty Shades of Grey. It was back to Beverley & East Riding Golf Club on Saturday evening for Helen & Paul’s lovely wedding. Helen and Paul had their Wedding Lunch at The Westwood Restaurant before holding their evening reception at the golf club. All the best for the future guys! I kicked off the weekend with my fellow Magician Dan Voakes Magic at the Barnsley & Rotherham Chamber of Commerce Business Awards at Magna. With almost 500 guests we had our work cut out for us! It was a pleasure to mix and mingle with all the guests and be a part of such a prestigious event.
Natalie and Alex’s was my first Wedding of the weekend at the beautiful Whitley Hall Hotel. I don't think anyone could believe how fantastic the weather was and all their family and friends enjoyed the drinks reception in the lovely gardens as I worked my magic. The Magic continued in to the meal and we finished with my special brides and grooms magic trick for the beautiful newly weds. I hope you enjoy your honeymoon break guys! On Saturday evening I headed over the Humber bridge to The Tale of Two in Cleethorpes to celebrate Sarah’s 50th Birthday. Many thanks to Sarah's lovely husband Andrew for asking me to entertain their family. The Wedding Fayre Season continued with another brilliant Wedding Fayres Yorkshire event at Garforth. I must be mad but I love everything about Wedding Fayres! I get to brighten up the day of the future brides and grooms with some interactive close up magic as well as catching up with my fellow exhibitors such as Robert Peel Photography, Down to Earth Florist, Lee Call Photography & Film, Philip Broadbent Photography, Leighton from Top Mark Suit Hire & Melanie from That Skincare Solution. After packing up my stand I headed up the M1 to the gorgeous Bridge Inn Hotel & Spa for Emma & Richard’s evening wedding reception. Coincidentally, I had actually met Emma just a few months ago at the previous wedding Fayre at Garforth. There were a few changes of date but I was so happy that I was available for Emma & Richard’s Special Day. The reason I love performing close-up magic so much is that I get to have conversations and get to know the people I am entertaining, and this weekend I met some genuinely lovely people! Everyone in Hull knows that at beginning of October the Fair comes to Town (well the City). If you are a child you love the excitement of the rides, lights and crowds. If you are an adult the Fair reminds you of when you came to the Fair as a child. And if you are anything like me you buy numerous bags of Brandy Snap! In fact, normally the brandy snap goes soft before I even get chance to eat it. This year my friends and I thought we would go along to the Fair and add a bit more magic to people's experience. Watch the video below to see what a great time we had and how we had the opportunity to entertain some Fair goers. Hope you like it 😀 I joined three of my fellow Hull Magicians on Friday evening to entertain the fine folks at Beverley Golf Club and The Marne Restaurant. The Golf Club was my second home for about 15 years so it was amazing to go back there and see so many familiar faces.
Mick and Christine are two of the nicest people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. I had a blast entertaining all of their family and friends at the Kyte Hotel on Saturday. I wish this lovely couple all the best for the future! We are certainly in the height of the wedding Faye season and this weekend saw me travel to Healds Hall Hotel near Leeds to entertain all of the future brides and grooms. It was another great Wedding fayres Yorkshire event and can't wait for the next Fayre at Holiday Inn Leeds Garforth next Sunday! Had a lovely day at Healds Hall Hotel today for the Wedding fayres Yorkshire Fayre.
Met loads of future brides and grooms! Great to see other fantastic exhibitors such as Gail from Temple Spa, Down To Earth Florist, Lee Call Photography & Film and Rachel at Halo Photography. 5 Wedding Fayres in the next 6 weeks!
