I've been using this same £10 note to perform magic with for over a year, it has seen better days. I have issued it to perform close up magic at hundreds of weddings across Yorkshire and beyond. I guess I should update it for the newer version, even though the plastic new version is almost impossible to fold!

The weekend started early for me with 2 beautiful weddings on Friday.
Scott and Imogen's wedding was at the epic Carlton Towers. This was my first visit and hope it won't be my last. The highlight was performing for Scott and Imogen in front of the grand building. I just had time to go home, have a cup of Yorkshire tea and then it was time to hit the road again. Danny and Amy's wedding was at the Mecure Parkway Hotel in Willerby and the bride and groom had pulled out all the stops for their guests. They had booked bouncy castles, a mechanical bull, a fantastic characteristic and a half decent close-up Magician! On Saturday evening I had the pleasure of performing at Marie's 40th birthday party where most of the guests were camping out in her garden overnight, it helped that her garden was huge! On Sunday I was at another Yorkshire Wedding Fayre at Brighouse, meeting loads of lovely future brides and grooms. You can't beat meeting people face to face and showing then what their guest could be experiencing. I think this is my favourite Street Magic video so far!
I loved showing the people at Xscape Yorkshire in Castleford something Magical. Hope you guys like watching it as much as I enjoyed making it! I had the privilege of performing at the Oaklands on Saturday evening. This place is so special! Can't wait to perform there again in 2018!
On Sunday I was performing once again at the fantastic Westwood Restaurant. To see the dates that I am entertain at the restaurant please see the blog below. How do you know that the close up magician you are booking is any good?
One way would be to see if they had some performance videos on their website or social media. Another way would be to check for reviews and testimonials. However, the t best way would be to meet them face to face and experience some magic for yourself! Luckily there are loads of videos of me performing and reviews on my website and social media, but if you are wanting to see me perform in person you can. I will be attending the following Wedding Fayres: Thursday 21st September - The Oaklands Sunday 24th September - Wedding Fayres Yorkshire, Brighouse Holiday Inn Saturday 30th September- Boutipi Open Weekend, The Crown & Anchor Sunday 8th October - Wedding Fayres Yorkshire, Healds Hall Sunday 15th October - Wedding Fayres Yorkshire, Garforth Holiday Inn Sunday 22nd October - Wedding Fayres Yorkshire, Wakefield Holiday Inn Sunday 29th October - Wedding Fayres Yorkshire, Village North Leeds Sunday 12th November - Tickton Grange Alternatively you can book a table at the fantastic Westwood Restaurant and have me perform at your table on the following dates: Sunday 17th September Sunday 1st October Sunday 19th November Sunday 3rd December Sunday 17th December Sunday 24th December Look forward to seeing you all soon 😀 A first for me this weekend, entertaining at a Netball Presentation night. It was great to see so many young people with a keen interested in sport collecting their awards for Chevron Netball Club.
The presentation night was held at the fantastic new events building at Lazaat Hotel, definitely worth checking it out, its huge! Wish them all the best for their 2017/18 season! On Saturday I was performing yet again at the beautiful Cave Castle Hotel at Grace and Michael’s wedding. It was nearly a year ago I met Grace at a Cave Castle Wedding Fayre and it was so nice to finally be there on their wedding day and do what I do best. Sunday saw the start of my Autumn Wedding Fayre Season. Had a great day at Holiday Inn Hull Marina. I always enjoy meeting future brides and grooms and showing them some close-up magic. Great to see the all my other friends who were exhibiting today such as the lovely Kelly at Pear Tree Occasions, Philip Broadbent Photography, Suit Direct Hull and their great collection, Jelliebug Occasions with there amazing venue decorations, Andrew Chandler Photography, Just4Fun Photobooth, Tiers and Celebrations Cake Maker and their delicious cakes! As always thank you to all the amazing guys at Wedding fayres Yorkshire! I can't describe how much it means to read amazing reviews such as the one from Kayleigh above. Thank you to everyone who has left me a review it really does help me out.
I get so many people saying that they were looking at a few close up magicians but then read my reviews and decided I was the Magician they wanted to book. Since I have received so many 5 star reviews it has changed my outlook on reviews. I used to not even think about reviewing a business that provided me with a great product or service, it didn't even cross my mind. I now appreciate how businesses can really benefit from great reviews and I now make an effort to review businesses I use. If you are getting Married or hosting a party in Yorkshire consider booking a close up Magician to add something special to you evening. So if you follow me on Facebook you will have noticed how I love to make short videos of a cool trick I've been working on. This one is one of my favourites as I've never seen anyone else perform it using this method. After a few sessions of practicing I decided on the presentation and then in a few takes it was done. Normally I hate talking to the camera but seen as coins jumping from one card to another isn't the most captivating sight I thought it was for the best. Hope you enjoy the video! There was no better way to start September than with a gorgeous wedding at the Oaklands. This place is out in the sticks near Brandesburton, and is the most idyllic setting for a wedding on a lovely summers day. I met Will and Chloe at the Oaklands Wedding Fayre earlier in the year and I was so happy that they asked me to entertain all of their family and friends on their special day. Everyone enjoyed relaxing in the sun listening to the amazing Jonny Kramer play his guitar as I performed a selection of my favourite close-up magical illusions. I wish Will and Chloe all the best for their future together.
I had chance to rush home for a shower and a change of clothes before hitting the road again and heading down the M62 to perform at Tony and Claire’s evening wedding reception. As soon as I arrived I had the pleasure of performing for the lovely newly weds and was so glad that I was able to give them a few magical souvenirs. It always amazes me how quickly time passes when I'm performing, before I knew it it was time to say goodbye to the Tony and Claire and head back home. I wish them a super honeymoon in Sorrento! I enjoyed a lovely Sunday performing once again at the wonderful Westwood Restaurant. It's great that the more I perform at The Westwood the more I get to know some of the regulars and have to think of different tricks I haven't shown them before. Thankfully, on Sunday evening I could relax with a lovely cold beer! |
