When organising a corporate event there are only a few things you can do to make yours stand out from the rest. A top quality close-up magician will make sure your corporate event is remembered and provide interactive entertainment that your guests have probably only ever seen on TV. I thought I would take the time to write a concise blog that will help you book the right magician for your event. Here are a questions you need to consider when booking a magician: 1. Is this person the right kind of Magician? There are many different types of magician such as kids, stage, close-up, mind reader, to name a few. Find out the type of magician the person you are looking at is and which events they specialise in. Think about who is attending your event and what type of entertainment will they enjoy the most. Once you have decided on the category of magician look at the style of the magicians you are considering. Do you want a comedy magician or a more serious performer? Any experienced professional magician will have video footage of performances on their website and/or social media pages, so have a watch and decide who’s style you prefer. 2. Does the Magician have plenty of reviews? Evidence of a top quality experienced professional are customer reviews. Obviously, anyone can write anything they want on their own website so take those testimonials with a pinch of salt. To get a more accurate reviews go to the performers social media pages or their google business page. If a magician has no reviews or has disabled the review function that might be a warning sign. 3. Can the Magician customise routines for your event? An experienced corporate magician will be very familiar with the ability to customise magic routines to your company brand or event. Over the years I have designed routines specifically to be customisable to a variety of events. The guests at your event will enjoy the entertainment much more when it has been tailored to their interests or industry. 4. Is one Magician enough?
Any experienced magician will ask how many guests are attending your function and depending on the number might suggest you hire more than one magician. To give you a good idea, I work on the basis that I can entertain 120 people over a 2 hour period. If there are less people that is fantastic as I know I will have time to visit groups more than once. But if you are going to have more than 150 people at the event I would suggest booking more than one magician, the last thing you want at the end of the event is guests complaining that they never got to see the entertainment. The magician you choose should be able to organise more magicians for you. 5. Book as early as possible! Okay this isn’t a question, but I needed a 5th bullet point and this is important to emphasise too. The entertainment is going to be an important factor to help your event stand out and be remembered. Don’t leave it until the last minute to book a magician as most professional magicians will be booked up well in advance, especially at peak times like Friday and Saturday evenings. I hope that helps if you are organising entertainment for an event. If you have anymore questions please don’t hesitate to contact me by email at [email protected]
