One decision can completely change your life! This all started because I decided to give up my job and go backpacking in South East Asia. One of the most ridiculous but easiest decisions of my life. (Not sure if it was as easy to come to terms with for my parents! Ha) Someone I met traveling suggested that I filmed myself approaching locals and showing them magic, which seemed like a good idea but the thought of it filled me with dread. Imagine.....walking up to a group of complete strangers, not even knowing if they speak English, on the other side of the world and offering to show them a magic trick! Trust me.....you feel like an imbecile! The thought of this would keep me awake at night. It was something I knew I had to do if I was to make some traveling magic videos. I’d see groups of people who I thought looked friendly and I’d sit there plucking up the courage to approach them, I must have looked like a psychopath! Gradually my confidence grew as I travelled around and I collected more footage. I fell in love with the process of approaching people and surprising them with things that they’d never seen before.......that sounds dodgy! Ha On my return in December 2015 I used the footage to kick off my new magical business venture. I’m so thankful that I met people who believed in me more than I believed in myself and urged me to push myself out of my comfort zone. Without that I know I wouldn’t have had the courage to do it. Since 2015 I have always made an effort to show people magic as I travel. I’ve performed for people in Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia, Singapore, Bulgaria, Switzerland, Germany, Norway, Portugal, Czech Republic, Denmark, Peru and most recently Tanzania. What started as an idea that filled me with dread is now an idea that I live for! Check out the videos below: South East Asia, is where it all started, I have the time of my life learning how to approach people and make friends through magic. In Bulgaria, I showed the owner of a restaurant a magic trick inspired by the fire we were sat beside trying to get warm before we ventured out to continue skiing. In Germany I met up with my good friend Dan and showed his friends why I have a playing card in my shoe. Last year I fulfilled an ambitious by hiking the famous Inca Trail to Machu Picchu and also got to thank all of our porters with some magic as we all squeezed into a small tent! In Tanzania I really wanted to show my appreciation to our porters (who basically carried me up Kilimanjaro) with some magic. The icing on the cake was performing magic while on a tour around a school.......an unforgettable experience for so many reason!
